Afton Brazil Team Supports Petropolis Flood Victims
In February 2022, the Rio region was hit with a major weather disaster mainly affecting Petrópolis city, a small town located in the mountains north of Rio de Janeiro. More than 200 people died in this disaster, and many families were left homeless due to the landslides and flash flooding.
The Afton Brazil team was touched by this situation and organized a donation campaign to help those impacted by the disaster. Together with some of our partner suppliers, Afton employees collected a substantial amount of items for this campaign. In addition to Afton’s monetary donation, we donated 900 liters of mineral water, 570 kgs of non-perishable food, 160 liters of cleaning/hygiene products, 910 units of diapers (children and geriatric), and 8 Mattresses. We delivered all of the items on March 8th.
We are grateful for the commitment of the Afton team and especially to our CIPA (Internal Commission of Accidents Prevention) President, Mrs. Michele Meneses, who arranged the free transportation and personally accompanied the delivery of the Afton donations.
