Coolants offer one of the larger new opportunities for lubricants in eMobility applications. Direct cooling of batteries, eMotors, power electronics and charge stations offers a significant efficiency benefits to these machines. Thermal management is made much more effective by applying fluid directly to electrified components. Of course, this requires a dielectric fluid – in other words a non-conductive fluid that is compatible with the new materials and systems to which it is exposed.
