Afton to present at Lubricant Expo North America

We are excited to announce that Afton Chemical will present at the upcoming Lubricant Expo conference and exhibition being held on March 18 – 20, 2025, at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan.



Ian Stewart, Senior R&D Chemist for Afton, will present Development of High-Durability Lubricants for Electrified Commercial Vehicles (eCV) on March 18 at 2:15 pm. When considering the electrification of commercial vehicles (CVs), several challenges arise, including the need for specialized lubricants that differ from those used in passenger vehicles (PVs). Formulating these lubricants involves unique strategies to ensure they meet the specific demands of CVs, such as balancing mechanical durability with materials protection. This balance is crucial for designing effective eMobility fluids. Additionally, extending the drain intervals for electrified CVs requires the development of fluids that can meet enhanced durability requirements compared to PVs. Looking ahead, the next steps in CV electrification and fluid development will focus on further advancing these formulations to support the evolving needs of the industry.
